Iron gluconate, or ferrous gluconate, is a compound often used as an iron supplement.

The amount of iron provided helps hemoglobin to perform its function of oxygen carrying to tissues and hair bulbs, where the roots of hair follicles are found, in order to nourish them enough and, thus, stop hair loss.
